4 Things to Remove from Your Life

On the road to success, it’s important to be focused and don’t have anything weighing you down. Unfortunately, many people carry around unnecessary baggage and it becomes a big hindrance in trying to achieve their dreams.

In order to be successful you have to surround yourself with positive influences. You must also understand that if you want true success, you are going to need to remove some things from your life.

Let me encourage you today to take inventory on the following areas. Are any of these stopping you from achieving your goals?

1) Toxic friends

You are who you hang with. You become a product of your own environment. Who are you surrounding yourself with? It’s important that your circle of influence is one that is going to lift you up, encourage you, and help you achieve your dreams.

Toxic friends are only going to bring you down as the majority of stuff that comes out of their mouths is negative. They come up with a problem for every solution.

Are your friends lifting you up or are they bringing you down? Find friends that are going to help you grow and help you get to a higher level. If you’re the smartest person in the room then you are in the wrong room. Surround yourself with winners.

2) Living in the past

Don’t look back, you’re not going that way. Whether your past was good or bad, it’s still in the past.

All of us have something in our past that we may regret, or we’ve had circumstances happen beyond our control. What we can control is how we respond. Make the decision to become better and not bitter.

Your past does not equal your future, today is the beginning of the rest of your amazing life. Take all of your failures and use them as learning opportunities, get excited about what’s ahead.

3). Stress

In this life we will have challenges. Learn to accept the challenges and view them as opportunities.

So many people create their own stress because they are not organized, they tend to fly by the seat of their pants. Plan the night before what your next day is going to be like. Be prepared, write out your plan. You’ll find doing this will reduce stress.

Learn to have an attitude of gratitude. Wake up each day being thankful for all your blessings along with all of your challenges. Look in the mirror and say this with a smile, “I am too blessed to be stressed.”

4) Excuses

There is a killer disease of success and it is called “Excusitus.” When someone suffers from this disease, they never come close to reaching their full potential. It’s never their fault—always someone else’s. Anyone can find a million reasons why they will not become successful.

The key is to forget that and understand you have a big WHY to focus on. This is what will help you become successful.

Stop making excuses and break out a big piece of paper, and on the top of that paper write out the word WHY. Underneath that, write out all the reasons you must be successful, there are no more excuses. You must have a burning desire to do what it takes to achieve success.

Are there some things you need to remove from your life? Are there some habits holding you back? You have an amazing opportunity and you are gifted with incredible talent. Now is the time to make the decision to go after the life that is designed for you. You can do this!

Have a super fantastic week!
