The Cabinet of Curiosities bar and its hidden speakeasy, The Lock hosted a great event last
night. On the ground floor of the Horseshoe, formerly Ballys, this funny bar has amazing oddities. We started with a spooky cocktail, as of course this is Halloween season, so I hope everyone can read this article before the holiday. But don’t fear, they will immediately go into the next season. After talking with other media people there, we got the update on what is going on. You can then move into the next room, The Lock. A small room, walls totally covered in old and exotic safes, has you play a mind game, trying to crack codes to escape into the next room. A host is with you to help with clues. Moving on through the Lock Room is the exotic cocktail lounge, plenty of tables and chairs and the bar. The experienced cocktails servers will mix up any drink you wish to partake in. Fill out a small form with your requests, such as sweet or sour, fruity or smoky and they will hand craft it for you. We moved to their newest room, about six months old to try out the Mixology Master Class, with the finest cocktail master I have ever met. Mr. Daniel Ponsky talked on and on about ingredients, sipping, smelling, smashing, shaking, and you name it to learn about the exotic things no one knows. He explained how different types of ice can totally change a drink, and what to pair with unqiue mixtures. But oddities abound and with that the amazing craft cocktails that guests have come to love.

“We’ve had so much fun this past year, exploring the cocktails and stories within The Cabinet and seeing the delight as guests find their way into The Lock and the mysteries that unfold with their Secret Menu cocktails,” said Tom Zaller, president and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions who was at the event. “We have some new mysteries to be revealed in the coming year and we’re excited to continue this journey with guests, both new and old.” The class lasts 90 minutes and is $100, well worth it. Classes only on Thursday through Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m.
