A sneak peek at a working DJ’s library

There is no angle of the experience of love that has been left unexplored in the musical realm. From that first crush to a full relationship implosion, musicians and lyricists bring forth the deepest of emotions and hold them up to the light. The number of ways people interpret love rival the variety of musical styles and, like music, love is always evolving and changing.
There are, of course, an enormous selection of ballads professing eternal love and desire. As a DJ, I mostly play those songs at weddings or private events, though sometimes as a slow dance highlight for galas and social events where having a few moments to really enjoy one’s date are welcome. The world of Pop music is also awash in many amazing “first sight” moments. In the last section of this list I will share some of my favorites from these areas, but first –a sampling of love songs from my library that lift your heart (or hackles) as well as your feet!
