La Neta Cocina Is Now Open

I gave the readers a hint of this new Mexican restaurant a month back and now it is open.

In Summerlin, I attended the opening night of the new Taqueria called La Neta Cocina y Lounge. This high-end eatery has the great team of Lanny Chin and Jordan Mendez, along with Ryan Labbe manning the place.  With high end tequilas, mescals, and plenty of top shelf liquor, the food was amazing.

Beautiful decorations, wide open lanai retractable windows, crystal chandeliers, and a huge bar—the place was packed.  Located at 1770 Festival Plaza Drive next to Las Vegas Ball park where there is plenty of parking.

We started with, of course, a Margarita served in one of the biggest mugs I have ever seen! As an appetizer the table shared Albondigas, Braised Meatballs, and Tostaditos. Two of us had the tortilla soup, which was amazing, and another diner with me had the Campechana—assorted seafood, with chili and lime broth. The main course, let us pick from Enchiladas—choice of cheese, chicken or short ribs, Taquerias—choice of chicken, mushroom, shrimp or steak, the Roasted Acorn Squash or for me, the Seafood Poblano.

This huge chili pepper was stuffed with Lobster, Shrimp, Queso Fresco, and tomatillo and was filled with many things to raise awareness of my taste buds.

We sampled something new called Mac n Cheetos, which lent a light crusty flair to the mac. Brussels sprouts, Cauliflower, Jalapeño Polenta, and street corn were also on the list.

The restaurant is super large; two separate dining rooms, one like the jungles of Mexico, one with the super flair, and I can’t wait to come back. Hours are Sunday thru Thursday 5-10 and Friday and Saturday 5-11. The lounge opens daily at 3 p.m.
