Hi everybody…my name is Clarence. Back there is Clyde. Did you ever wonder why we have long necks? Well, Matthew had an answer that was funny and maybe true. “Because they have stinky feet.”
Matthew is autistic. His teacher called his mom and suggested that she ask him about the joke he learned. Matthew’s mom obliged and asked, “Why do giraffes have long necks?” Matthew wrinkled his forehead and then smiled, “Because they have stinky feet.”
The significance of that moment? The joke he remembered…which caused his mom to get excited.
