Winning the Super Bowl of Life

This past week, I had the wonderful blessings of attending the Super Bowl with some great friends. Many of you would call this “checking off the bucket list.”  What a wonderful experience the whole weekend was, especially attending the game and seeing my favorite team win the game. I know the excitement I felt, I can only imagine the excitement of the players.

I have to admit, as a New England Patriots fan, I have become quite spoiled. It’s amazing the accomplishments that this team has had. They certainly have maintained excellence and consistency over a long period of time. It certainly helps to have the greatest coach of all time and without a doubt, the greatest quarterback of all time. But regardless of how much talent the team has, they still have to play the games and over a period of time, it’s going to take a lot more than just talent alone.

What does it take to win a Super Bowl? Over the past week, I’ve really been reflecting on this. There is no doubt about it, it certainly does take talent. The reality is, talent alone is not enough. It starts out with belief before the season even begins. In order to win the Super Bowl, first of all, the New England Patriots had to believe they were going to do this. Once that belief is established, the next step is to commit to doing whatever it takes to become a champion. It takes dedication, drive, and a lot of hard work. A team has to commit to do more than their competition. There will be challenges, setbacks, difficulties, and adversity. A winning team will never have excuses. They overcome the setbacks.

How about you? What is it going to take for you to become a champion and win the Super Bowl of life? It’s going to take all the same ingredients a Super Bowl team has. It has to start with belief. You have to believe in your company, your products, and your services. Most importantly, you have to believe in yourself and your abilities. You are a champion and it is important for you believe that. Believe that you can become a top performer in what you are doing. That is the first step.

Make a plan, and make a commitment to learn all the necessary skills that it takes to become successful. Find the people in life where you want to be and follow their example. Understand that there will be adversity along the way. Sometimes you lose, you will have failures and challenges. While you are going through this phase, stay positive and never give up. Persist until you succeed. Never look back, you’re not going that way.

Yes, You can be a champion in whatever you do. Make the commitment to put forth the effort to do whatever it takes to achieve great success. This is your time. Let’s make it happen! Be the very best you can be and let’s celebrate your success.

Just like in the Super Bowl, when the reporter says, ”You just won the Super Bowl and you are the MVP, what are you going to do now?” You can smile and say, “I’m going to Disney World!” By the way, that’s where our Christmas awards party is every year.

Have a super week!
