Golf Courses to Visit in Laughlin

Laughlin, which I featured a few days ago, has five terrific golf courses. Los Lagos, Laughlin Ranch, El Rio, Huukan Golf and and Mohave. Spend the afternoon on the course, let the wife have a day at the spa, plan a concert, visit a brewery or distillery, and have a great dinner.

We’ll be following up with those ideas as we go. Just keep this as the “treasure chest” of things to do in Nevada.

iLuminate Grand Opens on the Las Vegas Strip

I talked about the anticipation of this show a few months back and now want to give my eyewitness report.

iLuminate (pronounced eye-luminate) put on an electrifying opening night inside The STRAT Theater this week with a performance full of incredible dance numbers, fantastic costumes, great music, comedy, illusions, and more!

The show, which is performed entirely in the dark, was featured on America’s Got Talent where the group was proclaimed Best New Act in America and became finalists in their season, which now has led to much greater things.

In honor of the opening night, Mayor Carolyn Goodman’s office named Oct. 22 “iLuminate Day” and a proclamation was presented to iLuminate Founder Miral Kotb prior to the show starting. Our Las Vegas mayors do this for show openings, and it is always a highlight for the new folks in town.

Fans of all ages gathered after the show to meet the cast including mentalist and magician Banachek, who also performs in The STRAT Theater and attended the show with his daughter. The media was thrilled and will giving great shoutouts to this new pack of performers in our city.

iLuminate performs Wednesdays – Saturdays and Mondays at 10 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. which has been added since I last wrote about them. For me, this will be the show I will be attending whenever I have company in town. The Strat has free parking, the box office is at the base of the escalator to the 2nd floor on which the show is located. There is a full service bar at the entrance to the showroom.

Understanding in a relationship is crucial for lasting bonds. Do we know its meaning and importance? It requires letting go of being the center of attention and introducing respect, equality, space, etc. But are you ready to listen?

Ever heard that love is not enough? Although it may have sounded unromantic initially in our teenage or youth, later in the years of a relationship, you feel its meaning, word by word. Thus, understanding in a relationship becomes a key point for a bond to last. But despite knowing how common it is as a criterion today, not many try to decode its real meaning. So before going any further, let us get to the basics by finding the answers to what understanding in a relationship means.

What Is Understanding In A Relationship?

In plain words, it refers to perceiving things from your partner’s point of view and taking actions accordingly in different situations. Despite sounding simple, couples find it the most difficult thing to execute. Because we always fail to see the latent words in the definition of understanding in a relationship like space, respect, empathy, adjustments, silence, communication, motivation, appreciation, and more. The fundamental requirement of understanding in a relationship is to decide when to provide what based on your partner’s needs. It requires putting real effort into knowing your partner.

How To Build Understanding In A Relationship?

Couples in the age of dating sites commonly fail at studying their partners. Accustomed to fast-paced dating, today’s generation is forgetting the importance of spending time getting to know their partner. Hence, the separations, which then increases commitment phobia in people. It could be avoided only if people could spend their time learning how to create understanding in a relationship. However, your presence here counts as a big step and shows your intention to build a beautiful bond, so let’s get started.

Tip #1: Listen Without Judging

Allow your partner to speak and feel comfortable with you. Judging them on everything can make them feel uncomfortable and insecure, leading them to hide in a shell. If you are planning to improve understanding, let your partner be themselves with you so that they can say anything they wish to when needed.

Tip #2 : Don’t Make It Always About You

One person is generally more dominant than the other in a couple. You could be that! But that doesn’t mean everything has to be about you. Let your partner shine as well; otherwise, instead of understanding, it will create suffocation.

Tip #3: Practice Giving Space

The difference between a teenage and mature love is space. Adults, irrespective of their years of association, need to have their own life as well. They have their own minds, thoughts, and needs. Letting them free is a key requirement of understanding in a relationship.

Tip #4: Communicate Beyond Words

Not always can you expect your partner to share what they want from you. A major part of understanding in a relationship requires you to study their behavior to know what makes them happy and conversely, what makes them upset or angry. Efforts and understanding never go unnoticed and always receive appreciation from partners.

Tip #5: Give Time

Things may go wrong; it’s life. But reacting without getting an explanation shows the lack of trust and faith between two people. Giving the other person time to explain in their own time is an important part of the process.

Tip #6: Don’t Impose Your Opinions While Listening

Let the other person speak without interruption. Sometimes all your partner needs is a friend to pour their heart to. Irrespective of the side you take, your opinions may have an unwanted effect on your partner’s mind. It may lead them to go back to a shell without you understanding the problem and create a communication barrier. Alternatively, concentrate on building a space where they can comfortably pour their heart out without feeling conscious of every word spoken.

Tip #7: Respect Even If You Disagree

A couple is two people, two different people. Let that seep in because it means that you have two minds, two hearts, different mindsets, choices, and opinions. But just like you expect your partner to respect and even like you and your choices, you need to do the same. You cannot and should not expect your partner to behave in a way you can’t follow. Remember, they are not slaves but equal.

It is a process that you ace with time. Trying to find the intentions behind all your partner’s behaviors and actions helps you know your partner in a better way. It helps in solidifying the bond and increases dependability on each other which is the most valuable quality couples can have in a relationship.

Couples fail to realize that two things are very important in any association. First is communication, and second, behavior. Your partner mirrors your actions, so if you want a change in your life, you should first look at your flaws. While the first step is introspection, the second step to success is communication. The best relationships consist of transparency and trust. Instead of expecting your partner to understand your issues magically, sit down and do ‘the talk.’ Stop wasting time and get to action because the longer you wait, the more toxic things become due to the lack of understanding in a relationship. No Pain, No Gain

When I was growing up, this was a term my dad would say all the time. Chances are you’ve all heard the quote “No pain, no gain” before. For those of you who work out, it’s a term you can certainly relate to. In order to make your muscles grow, you have to go through pain. It is definitely painful because you’re tearing apart your muscles, but the reward for the pain is always worth it.

The amazing thing is that it not only applies to working out, but also to every phase of our lives. For example, in your relationships, finances, business, and your overall emotional health. All of us have been through challenges and setbacks. The question is, during the pain you received, what kind of lesson did you learn? In order to be successful, we have to go through pain and failure. Failure is all part of the process.

There are no secrets when it comes to having success. If you really want to achieve something big, you have to put in major effort.

You will certainly encounter pain along the success journey, but the mistakes that you make will teach you important lessons.

You will also have trials and tests along the way. You will receive rejection. No matter what you go through, you have to have determination and you must never give up. Anyone who has reached the top level in success will all tell you that pain is part of the journey, and every moment of it will be rewarded later. Do not be afraid to encounter pain because it’s actually a sign that you’re making progress.

Winners use pain to their advantage, and rather than seeing it as total failure, consider it to be a great lesson. The more it hurts, the more rewards later.

Consistency is the key. When you are going through setbacks, do not allow these trials to hold you back. Rather than seeing failures as heavy bricks, use them to build stairs toward your success path.

We’ve all seen people who have gone through terrible storms in life. It may have knocked them down for a while but they end up becoming a better version of themselves. The comeback becomes much better than the setback. When life hits you hard, it’s important to not stay down. Get up and take action to become a better you.

Perhaps you have been going through some difficult times recently, please remember that it’s only temporary. Change your focus and your perspective. Start viewing different types of pain as part of the process in which you will be rewarded later. When you develop this philosophy, you can achieve pretty much anything you want in life.

Nobody said it was going to be easy. The road to success is always under construction. Pain is your friend, learn from it and improve. Become a better version of yourself. Remember this, NO PAIN, NO GAIN!

Laughlin Only 90 Minutes from Las Vegas-Check Out Some Favorite Artists

While I usually write about Las Vegas, while you’re here, why not take a short road trip to Laughin, only 90 minutes away.

Laughlin is right on the river with plenty of things to do. They have a fabulous event center which currently is featuring some of the artists below.

Stay overnight and take a trip out on the water with either Laughlin River Jet Skis, Desert River Outfitters, Laughlin River Tours, or Jerkwater Tours. That’s just the beginning in Laughlin. More highlights to follow on a regular basis.

FANTASY Celebrates 22 years

FANTASY at Luxor Hotel and Casino celebrated its 22^nd anniversary, received its most awarded year in the show’s history on Tuesday night and I was there, as I have been for the last 16 years. The fabulous all-female revue showcased two new numbers, including a finale set to “Last Dance” that had everyone in the room on their feet and dancing.

In 2021, FANTASY was awarded the show’s first gold award for “Best Production Show” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” in 2020 and “Best Production Show – Readers’ Choice” by Las Vegas Weekly. FANTASY also won “All-Time Best Female Revue” by Las Vegas Weekly and “Best Female Revue” by “Best of Las Vegas.” The show’s dynamic singer and headliner, Lorena Peril, was recently awarded “Best Local Entertainer” by the Silver State Awards. Lorena continues to amaze everyone who hears her dynamite voice. Truly a performer, she is always there with a little humor to add.

Chuck Bowling, COO of Mandalay Bay and Luxor, welcomed the audience and introduced Mann, who shared her gratitude for the cast, crew and fans of FANTASY. It was also revealed that MGM Resorts Foundation is the recipient of an annual donation from sales of FANTASY’s “Gold Standard” 2022 calendar.
