Getting It Done in 2021–Part Two

I am excited to see so many making a commitment to create positive change for 2021. There are no shortcuts, there are no secret formulas. Getting to a higher level of success is going to take 100% devotion on your part.

Last week we discussed three steps. We talked about the importance of having a success plan, staying focused, and being productive.

In order to achieve your goals, it’s important to know exactly what it is that you want to achieve. Once you have established that, put together a success plan; eliminate all the distractions and stay focused. Make sure that you make every second count. Time is your capital and you must invest it properly.

In part 2  of “Getting it Done in 2021,” I am going to share steps 4-7. Let me encourage you to write these down and apply them.

4) LOOK AHEAD

Don’t look back, you’re not going that way. The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you have come.

If you ever notice that in a vehicle, the rearview mirror is very small and your windshield is big. Keep looking ahead and drive towards your goals.

We all have a past, each of us have had mistakes in our lives. There have been circumstances that may have happened to us that were out of our control. Sometimes life is not fair, we can choose to be bitter or we can become better. We can choose to be a victim or a victor.

Successful people do not fret about the past, they are always moving forward and envisioning the future. You will make progress by taking constant steps forward and  understanding that failure is part of the process. Use your failures as learning experiences, and remember that your past does not equal your future.

5) BE PERSISTENT

Successful people know that if they want to get things done, they have to be persistent and not stop until they are finished. No matter what, they never give up.

Let me make this crystal clear, you will have difficult times and you may have times when you feel like throwing in the towel. Never listen to the naysayers. Find the people who are in life where you want to be and allow them to encourage you. Don’t look back. Keep marching forward and no matter what, NEVER QUIT!

6) TAKE ACTION

People often ask “When do I start?” Start right now and start right where you are. It’s okay that you don’t have all the knowledge, you will learn as you go. Get out there and make it happen. You can have success right out of the gates.

If there is no action, there are no results. Quit studying and make the commitment to take action. Be accountable and accept responsibility for your actions.

It’s a very simple formula. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. Be consistent and give 100% daily.

7) HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN

Long-term success is directly tied to how well you serve others. If you really want true joy and happiness in your life, it’s important that you take the focus off yourself and commit to helping others. And I’m not just talking about giving money, I’m talking about helping people, organizations, and communities. That’s going to involve spending time. It’s a commitment but it is truly worth it.

There is no greater gift than giving. We rise up by lifting others up. When you help others achieve their dreams, you will achieve your own dreams. Become a helper. Become a giver and watch the amazing blessings that you receive. We don’t do it for the blessings, but it is an added incredible bonus if your heart is in the right place.

Are you ready to get it done in 2021? This is your time, you are truly worth it. Never sell yourself short and always remember that you are designed for greatness!

Have a super fantastic week! Let’s get it done!

A Few Thoughts to Break Up Your Day

So learn to turn the page!

Tricky aren’t we?

Was that like in 1975?

Remember, we all are worth a great deal to the ones that love us.

Good for the Soul–African Elephants

In these troubling times, it is hard to find uplifting and wonderful stories. The one below, who has an unnamed author is a good example. The world’s population of elephants has been terribly exploited, so this caring women has spent her life caring for orphans.  May the earth find more people like her.

Just as many other wild species, the African elephant’s population have dramatically declined due to poaching over the last years. Every year countless of these giant mammals are hunted, because of their tusks, leaving behind lots of helpless orphaned babies. Fortunately, some of these orphan elephants end up being rescued. Nairobi Elephant Orphanage in Kenya is one of the few places, where orphaned baby elephants find protection and comfort.

Here, a dedicated team of conservationists take care of these precious baby elephants. Even though life is anything but easy, for a calf that lost its parents due to excessive poaching, the kindness and devotion of the volunteers at the orphanage helps them to get through. Among them, Dame Daphne Sheldrick. In fact she’s the woman who made this possible, after she dedicated her life to rescuing animals.

For over four decades, hundreds of animals got their second chance of survival thanks to this woman. All those years, Dame Daphne has successfully hand-reared newborn elephants. In this way she and her team helped hundreds of them to get back in the wild.

Besides her hard work and all the enthusiasm she put in, Dame Daphne Sheldrick has managed to find a perfect milk formula that mimics a mother elephant’s milk. The woman declares that the orphaned elephants have not only inspired her pioneering conservation work through the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, but they also have taught her so much about living.

“Elephants have taught me how to put the bad things behind, turn the page and get on with living,” she said. “Understanding the traumas that elephants have to put up with and how they cope with it has made me a stronger person.” And in return for her kindness, the elephants she rescued reward her in the sweetest possible way.

4 Ways to Have Fun and Stay Active While Pregnant

Pregnancy is one of the most exciting things that can happen in a woman’s life, and to keep you and your baby healthy while you’re expecting it’s important to eat well, get enough rest, and do some form of physical activity. According to health experts from The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, pregnant women should get at least 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic activity every week. While you can certainly meet your exercise quota through activities such as brisk walking and gardening, there are other things you can do to stay active while you’re expecting. Here’s how you can have fun and stay active while you’re pregnant.

Game night at the restobar

If you and your partner love game nights at the restobar, go ahead and have some fun bonding at your favorite hangout spot. You can safely participate in bar games such as darts, but make sure that the darts aren’t made of lead, or use a soft-tip dart. You can also play several rounds of pool, but avoid playing in smoke-filled rooms, as exposure to cigarette smoke during pregnancy can cause health complications in babies, such as having a low birth weight. Stay hydrated by drinking water and lots of fresh fruit juice while playing, and by all means, avoid alcoholic drinks on your night out. If you miss cocktails, order a mocktail from the bartender.

Sign up for an outdoor dance class

Getting your groove on in the comfort of your home may be fun, but it’s even better when you’re dancing outdoors with other people. Dancing is a safe activity for pregnant women, so see if you can find an outdoor dancing class at a nearby park or garden. Avoid hip-hop, street, or urban dancing, as the sharp movements can put some strain on your body. Instead, go for a samba, jazz, or salsa dancing class to keep in shape. If you can’t find an outdoor dance class, organize your own by getting a few friends and family members together and have a dance party in your backyard.

Go geocaching

For those who like to explore, try geocaching with your partner or with your friends. This outdoor treasure hunting game is not only fun, but it’s a great way to bond with people. Best of all, it’s free. Wear comfortable walking or running shoes, and make sure to bring water and small snacks with you while searching for geocaches near your area.

Catch some Pokémon in the wild

Pokémon Go was a big hit when it came out in 2016, and people all over the world were able to make their Pokémon trainer dreams come true as they caught Pokémon in public spaces. The game is still going strong to this day, and since it just involves walking and searching, it’s the perfect activity for pregnant moms who want to have some fun. Get a few friends together and see if you can catch a Dragonite or a Snorlax – just don’t forget to stay safe and avoid catching Pokémon in busy streets.

The fun doesn’t stop just because you’re expecting a baby. Try these tips to have fun and stay active while you’re pregnant, and enjoy all the stages of your pregnancy.
