Starring extraordinary acts from the hit TV franchise “America’s Got Talent” (AGT), the show will be live twice a night, five nights a week, at Luxor Theater. MGM Resorts International, Syco Entertainment and Fremantle, have combined to produce this fabulous variety-style production for audiences of all ages.

“‘America’s Got Talent’ is one of the entertainment industry’s most established and successful brands,” said Chuck Bowling, president and chief operating officer at Mandalay Bay and Luxor. “A partnership with Fremantle and the Syco Entertainment team led by the  Simon Cowell to bring back live entertainment in the Entertainment Capital of the World feels meant to be.”

The 75-minute production will feature daredevil acts and magicians to vocalists and acrobats. You might find fire eaters, balancing acts, and maybe an elephant will appear from nowhere with a magician.  AGT is always a surprise for everyone involved.  The audience will be thrilled and awed to be able to see acts up close and in person, after watching the television show on t.v.  I actually got to go to one of the live performances in Los Angeles about 8 years ago and was backstage with one of the acts.  What a great couple of days I had!

Stadia Bar at Caesars Palace hosted an extravagant grand opening affair, welcoming guests to the all-new sports watching destination bar and lounge. During the event, Sean McBurney, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment, was joined by Raiders Alumni wide receiver James Lofton and linebacker Rod Martin, along with four Raiderettes, to celebrate the opening of Stadia Bar.

Stadia Bar has a great sports viewing experience with lavish amenities, lots of large HD TVs, and a menu with high-end spirits and great cocktail selections. Guests can reserve a space for a game, or just do the old walk-up and hopefully find a chair.

“Stadia Bar is an exciting addition to our portfolio of world-class bars and lounges at Caesars Palace, offering guests the next level of sports viewing experiences in Las Vegas,” said Caesars Entertainment Regional President Sean McBurney. “We have a beautiful bar designed by Rockwell Group, extraordinary amenities and hand-crafted cocktails, but Stadia is all about the viewing experience. No matter where fans look, they can enjoy the game.”

Stadia’s cocktails are unlike any other. Its menu features athlete-and-celebrity-owned spirits brands including Termana Tequila by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; 7Five Beer by Vegas Golden Knights player, Ryan Reaves; Howler Head Banana Bourbon by President of the UFC Dana White; and Cincoro Tequila by basketball legend Michael Jordan. Stadia also features a highball cart where guests can choose their garnish, spirit, and more than a dozen soda flavors.

Designed by the award-winning global architecture and design firm Rockwell Group, the 120-seat sports hub gives you the feeling of being in a live arena. The flooring of Stadia is made from recycled basketball courts. There are elevated bar stools or VIP leather-wrapped domes. Each dome creates the feeling of sitting within a vintage leather football helmet and lets guests view with their own private screen. Stadia also features sports-inspired design details such as net-like chandeliers. Lockwell Group has previously designed several Caesars Palace venues such as the first Nobu Hotel and Nobu Restaurant and Lounge, OMNIA Nightclub, and Montecristo Cigar Bar.

Stadia is located adjacent to the Forum Food Hall and across from Vanderpump Cocktail Garden and is open from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily.

I stopped by for cocktails on Monday and highly recommend this place. Elegant, dashing, sports enthusiasts all!!!!

Transform Your Life With an Attitude of Gratitude

We all have met people who, no matter how many positive blessings they have, always find reasons to complain. I’ve even seen while at Disney World, known as the “happiest place on earth”, people still managing to find something to complain about. Why does that type of behavior happen? The reason is, it’s all about focus.

Here’s the reality. We all go through difficult times in our lives. Some of them are life-changing while others could just be simple annoyances. The key is no matter what we go through to remain thankful for all that we have. No matter how tough life can get, we still have this chance to live it.

The correct attitude to have always is an attitude of gratitude. When you make an effort to express appreciation for your life, I have found that you will be blessed with more love and joy. There is no such thing as a perfect life. Sometimes things happen that cause us to react in a negative way. It’s OK to have a pity party once in a while, but we don’t want to party too long. It does not do any good for your overall mental well-being.

Being thankful forces you to get outside of your problems and look at the big picture. This will help you to move forward in life when the challenges come.

It’s hard to be negative when you have an attitude of gratitude. Each of us always has a choice of what we will focus on. When we are grateful, we operate from a place of abundance instead of a place of scarcity and fear.

If you find yourself in a situation where you’re having a day where nothing seems to be going right, instead of focusing on all of that, change your attitude and start giving thanks for everything that you have in your life. I promise you there are a lot of people who would gladly change positions with you.

Having an attitude of gratitude has nothing to do with your circumstances. This is why it’s important to understand that no matter what we go through, we must be grateful at all times. Studies actually show that if you are grateful, your level of happiness will be raised by 25%.

If you have found yourself being one of those people who seem to focus on the negative or complain all the time, it’s time to change your focus and the way you think. Let me encourage you to get a journal and write in a few sentences each and every day practicing gratitude. When it comes to practicing gratitude, consistency is the key. Get into a good routine of writing in your journal daily, I recommend doing it in the morning. What a great way to start your day!

Start expressing your gratitude. Unfortunately, most people tend to talk negatively and look for the bad in others. Instead of doing that, start reaching out to people and let them know how much you appreciate them. Look for the good in others.

It’s never too late to start developing an attitude of gratitude. What are you thankful for? Even if you’re going through difficult times right now, there is always something to be thankful for. Life is amazing, take the time to pause and appreciate it. Being grateful will give you the power to completely change your entire life.

No matter what, always be thankful.

Pathway to a Father’s Heart

Understanding

Pathway to a Father’s Heart

In memory of “Alexandre Clement” (RIP)

Dad gave me some of the best memories on his 1976 Kawasaki KZ 900 riding all day long in the country during the weekends.  We did not have to say much at all.  It was a silent understanding and bond.  He also taught me to play pool, bowl, skate, paint, the love of reading, poetry, bicycle, and arts in general.  He was a calm man—for the most part.  I marveled at my dad’s KZ 900.

Like many boys at that age back then, I looked at my dad with his bike as if he was a superhero. A superhero he was not.  Neither was he a bad man nor evil.  It took about 45 years for me to understand the man and have some compassion for him.  Truth shall set you free they say… I can tell you that is true.  Truth helps you understand the past.  Although our past does not excuse some of our behavior, it helps explain it so we can correct it.  When we come to an understanding, we can have more compassion for others and ourselves.  Truth opens the gates of understanding which then opens the door to forgiveness and healing for a better future.  When you reach that point of understanding and compassion for others or even for yourself, life gets a lot better.

Men nowadays, and in general, are vilified, mocked, and made to feel completely inadequate, unworthy, or frankly just dumb.  The good news is hate hurts the hater more than the hated.  You can put that one in the bank!  Beware when you hear negative blanket statements about men (or women) out there.  A lot of us men are caring and loving fathers.  I am speaking of the fathers who provide for their families.  The ones who take time for their significant others, for their children, and those out in the communities doing charity work.  The ones who pursue personal growth because they know and are humble enough to have faith in the wisdom to seek help.  I’m also speaking about the fathers who have made huge mistakes but have enough kahunas to own that.  The fathers who make relentless efforts to correct behaviors without blame-shifting to justify anything.  The fathers who are silent but steady and strong in the face of mockery, gossip, slander, or narcissistic hate.  The fathers who, too, have been victims but who don’t care to stay victims.  The fathers who loved with all they had in them and who only have time to move forward.  I salute those men!  I salute you all, fathers, who keep fathering regardless of any adversities!

As the eldest in the family, Dad lived in poverty.  He had to help provide for a family of nine—he was robbed of his childhood.  It was that or starvation.  He lacked a lot of basic needs a child should have been given.  He messed up big time, more than once.  He was greatly misunderstood by his own blood because no one cared to know or face the truth and truly help him.  His illness was met with hostility and mockery at times.  He was a creative, sentimental, romantic idealist and a dreamer who ended up being diagnosed with manic depression.  He eventually shot himself in the head.  I am at peace with him and with all contributing “elements” to his demise.

My point is, love your dad.  Love him.  Regardless.  Understand his truth.  Learn about him. It will make life a bit better for both you and him.  Not without challenges but still.  When your bike makes a strange noise what do you do?  You find the truth so you can better deal with it.  Same with humans.  When you see unusual behavior, don’t crucify and judge too quickly.  I love my dad and miss him dearly today.  I wish I could give him a big hug.  I would probably give him a good punch as well but heck, it would be with a whole lot of understanding.  I wish he was here to see my kids and my bikes.

Can you hear me through the written word pleading “Go love and hug your dad even if all you will get is a grumpy old man!”?  Do it while you still can!

27 — A Musical Adventure: New at Virgin Hotels

They changed the music, then they changed the world. 27 – A Musical Adventure is honoring six prominent well-known music icons who all left the world at the age of 27. Gone way too soon were: Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Robert Johnson, Jim Morrison, and Amy Winehouse.

The show opened last weekend at its new home inside 24 Oxford in the newly remodeled Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas, which is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Formerly Hard Rock Hotel, anyone who has been in Vegas before has been sure to make a stop there. 24 Oxford was the first location for Virgin Records, so the name fits very well.

Throughout the show, the audience is taken on a retrospective journey of sight and sound, showcasing each artist’s respective contributions to our musical landscape. The show culminates with the artists all performing together on one stage in a rock concert like no other. The intimate room of approximately 242 seats and a standing space by the bar for another 35 was filled Wednesday night for media of which I was one.

“27 has been in the works for more than 15 years. The show received a tremendous response across multiple generations when it debuted at the Troubadour, and we are excited about the residency at the new Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Virgin is synonymous with music, so we think it’s a great fit,” said Ramy El-Batrawi of Hen Entertainment and co-writer/co-producer of 27 – A Musical Adventure.

“We are excited to be able to announce that live entertainment is back,” said Gary Scott, COO of JC Hospitality, owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. “27 – A Musical Adventure inside 24 Oxford will highlight the talents of performers who bring the legendary artists to life and we’re proud for this rock retrospective show to kickoff off our entertainment lineup.”You can buy tickets for 27 – A Musical Adventure with prices starting at $65 plus tax and fees. Performances will be Wednesday through Sunday at 8:30 p.m. starting May 19, 2021. The show is open to ages 6 and up.

Tickets can be purchased at https://www.etix.com/ticket/e/1019515/27-las-vegas-24-oxford-residency or https://ticketbat.com.

How to Make Your Apartment Feel Like Home

Moving into your new apartment is a significant milestone in life and, as such, comes with plenty of excitement. Finally moving out of your parents home will feel liberating, but also mean that you’re finally independent enough to take care of yourself, pay the bills, and run a household. However, before you feel at home, you’ll need to make some arrangements and adjustments to your new apartment. Whether you’re moving into a place that you’ve bought or one that you’re renting, a little bit of touch up will be in order before it will feel like your own.

Clear out the clutter

First and foremost, there must not be any clutter anywhere. Moving comes with a myriad of boxes, bags, and a variety of storage items, that you’ll be carrying with you when you move in. Only after you’ve gotten rid of all those piled-up boxes will you be able to feel like you’re in your home. Clutter is not only unsightly, but it also creates a very unpleasant ambience making you feel like you’re living in a storage room rather than in an apartment. So, once you’re done unloading all the boxes and moving all the furniture where it belongs, throw the boxes in the storage room and slowly unpack the contents day by day, without having them in plain sight.

Invest in real furniture

Having hand-me-down chairs and tables for a week or so is manageable until you’re unpacked and semi-settled in. But after you’ve unloaded the boxes and all of your stuff, you need to start looking for real furniture. Sofas, armchair, a coffee table, and a real bed will be of great necessity if you want to make your apartment feel like home. You don’t have to shop for a full set of living room furniture at once. But the more pieces you can get, the better.

Introduce your favourite colours

If you’re renting an apartment and your landlord allows you to paint the walls, do so with your favourite colour. Adding personal touches will make you feel at home, and there’s no better way to personalize your space than with colour. Make sure you choose ones that won’t clash with your furniture, by picking a colour scheme that best reflects your character. Wall decals and removable wallpapers can be a fabulous alternative if you’re not allowed to paint the walls. You should feel like you’ve been living in that apartment for years the minute you enter the room.

Fill the place with your signature scents

Scents are very powerful, allowing us to go back in time in our minds instantly after smelling a familiar note. They may seem small and insignificant and because of that, scents are an easily overlooked change that can make a lot of difference in your apartment. Have you noticed how the second you enter your grandma’s house it makes you feel like you’re three years old again? That’s precisely the effect you want to achieve in your home. Make it smell familiar and inviting. Whether you decide to bring in a variety of flowers, or you want to have a diffuser with your favourite scents, as long as the aromas are pleasant and inviting, you’re going to feel like you’ve been living in that apartment for as long as you can remember. Scented candles, essential oils and air fresheners will all do the trick, as long as you have them in every room to create cohesiveness in your new apartment.

Customize every area

Adding personal touches is crucial when you want to make a new apartment feel like home. That’s why you should customize every area of your living space. Hang your family photos on the walls, and display picture frames on the shelves and the tv stand. If you’ve brought all those souvenirs from various trips with you, find a place to exhibit them too. Don’t forget about your favourite mirror and all those retro posters you kept in your room. Invest in a durable outdoor mat and put it in front of the outside door to let everyone know that’s where you live. Do you have a favourite apron or a mug? Display them in the kitchen together with your family heirloom and signature kitchenware in recognizable colours.

Add curtains

Curtains add character to a room, so make sure yours makes a statement. If you’ve chosen a neutral colour palette for the room, you should consider curtains in a statement colour to add contrast to the entire colour scheme. To make the room visually bigger, consider adding floor-to-ceiling curtains. Not only will they make the room look bigger, but they’ll add style to the room too. Another benefit of having curtains is that they’ll tie the entire décor together and make the interior feel done. With curtains, you’ll feel like your decorating is complete and that you’re ready for your new independent life.

Bring in flowers and plants

Nothing makes the room look more like home than flowers. Remember how much your mum cared about her plants in the garden, and those standing on the window sill or in the corners of the rooms? Watering the plants regularly will give you a sense of home because you’ll have something to look after and come home to. Besides, with a vase of fresh flowers, the room will shine brightly and add freshness to your décor. Make sure you invest in a vase that will fit in so that the whole interior design looks well connected.

Make it cosy

When we say cosy, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it you wrapped in a warm fluffy blanket with a cup of cocoa in your hands? Or is it you snuggling on a sofa with your favourite plush throw pillows and a fireplace on? Whichever image came to mind, that’s what you need to add to your interior to make it feel cosy. Only after you feel comfortable and cosy enough, will you feel like you’re finally home. So, from fluffy blankets to colourful soft accent pillows and warm area rugs on the floor — there’s a full spectrum of items just waiting for you to pick them up and warm up your new apartment.

Decorate walls

Walls add to your apartment’s character incredibly much. Therefore, think of several creative ways in which you can make your apartment look and feel more like home. Do you like paintings and random street art that you can frame and display on your walls? If that’s what feels like home to you, do it. Maybe you want to create a focal point with a dark coloured wall and a gold statement mirror in the middle. How about hanging a tv on the wall, and surrounding it with a myriad of your favourite photographs and paintings? These are just some of the ideas that can make any apartment look and feel like home.

Final thoughts

Making an apartment feel like home will not happen overnight. However, there’s plenty you can do to make your new place feel familiar, inviting, and cosy enough to resemble a home. After several months of settling in and bringing in furniture, you won’t even notice the moment that your new place started to feel like home. Make sure you fill it in with familiar objects, scents and colours little by little and before you know it, you’ll feel like that’s exactly where you’ve spent all the previous years of your life.

7 Ways to Make Birthdays Special

As we get older, our birthday celebrations are slowly becoming simpler. We sort of lose that excitement about celebrating them that we had as kids. Probably because each following birthday is just a reminder that we’re getting older.

Still, birthdays are for celebrating. Regardless of whether you like to throw huge parties or just spend a quiet day with your loved ones — you should always find a fun way to mark that special occasion.

If you or someone close to you has a birthday coming up, you should have some great birthday party ideas lined up, just in case.

Here are seven ways to make someone’s birthday special.

  1. Organize a brunch

Sometimes, dinner parties are way too mainstream and it’s time to mix it up a little. To make a birthday party special this year, try organizing a brunch.

Brunches have become very popular in recent years, so you won’t have a problem finding a restaurant that serves it. Just make sure you tell all the guests either to skip breakfast or not to overindulge.

You can also organize a brunch party at your home. A backyard brunch party sounds dreamy.

  1. Do a spa day

No one can say no to a day of relaxation and indulgence. Some of the best spas offer birthday packages and offer a full day of massages, facials, baths, and relaxation. Wouldn’t that be a dream birthday!

You know that we all live in a fast-paced world, where time is precious, and getting some downtime for pampering is considered a luxury. So, organizing a relaxing spa birthday either for yourself or for your special someone will most certainly be a hit.

  1. Birthday gifts

Even if a birthday celebration is off the table, getting a birthday gift for yourself or your loved one is a must!

If you don’t have any plans to celebrate your birthday this year, you should at least treat yourself to a nice birthday present. You can make it a day of shopping where you’ll be strictly choosing yourself a perfect birthday present.

As for your loved ones, this year instead of struggling to find the right kind of gift, you can create personalized gift baskets. These baskets are ideal for all kinds of occasions and the best thing is that you can create your own custom gift basket. A very cool way to surprise someone with a special birthday present!

  1. Host a game night

As we get older, the prospect of spending a night out is becoming ever tiring. So, why not spend a comfortable night in? Host a relaxing game night where the dress code will be either pyjamas or leisurewear.

Then take out all your favourite board games such as Monopoly, Cluedo, or any other favourite childhood games. Prepare several batches of popcorn or cookies and your favourite drinks. And voila, a perfect night in to mark your birthday or your loved ones.

  1. Host a wine tasting with charcuterie

Who says that you can’t make your wine tasting party? All you have to do is tell your guests to bring their favourite wine bottle or bottles and you already have a nice selection of wines to go through.

In addition to wine tasting, you can set up a cheese and charcuterie platter. Charcuterie is the culinary art of preparing meat products such as ham, bacon, sausage, pates, ballotines, and so on. All these meat products are placed on the charcuterie boards and served like that.

A very French birthday party from the comfort of your home or backyard!

  1. A perfect beach escape

Organize a perfect beach escape for your special someone’s birthday. Make a small picnic next to the sea or river and enjoy the sun and nature around you.

Is there a more perfect birthday than escaping the noise, crowd, and pollution of the city? Nothing beats a relaxing day at the beach surrounded by your loved ones.

  1. Host a movie night

If your birthday person is a film buff, you already know what to do for their birthday — host a movie night. You have several options here: you can rent out a local theatre room and have them play a certain movie, or you can host a movie night at your place.

All in all, rest assured that your loved one will enjoy their birthday, doing the thing they love the most — watching movies!

There are so many fun and creative ideas that you can use to surprise your loved ones for their birthday. Hopefully, we managed to inspire you with some of the above-mentioned ways.

Making someone feel special doesn’t take much. You don’t have to go all out to organize a special birthday party for someone you love or even for yourself. Just pay attention to all the things they love and appreciate and planning a birthday party won’t be an impossible task.

Repeat the Things That Made You Successful

When I first began my career in direct sales, I landed a position selling encyclopedias door-to-door based on commission. Although most laughed at me and tried to discourage me, I was committed to having success. Out of the gate, I had success right away and wrote seven sales my first week. At the age of 18, I made more money in that week than most people made in a month. The ironic thing about it is that I really didn’t know what I was doing. I made those sales based upon my enthusiasm.

After that week, I started hearing from everyone else how great I was doing. It was wonderful to hear all the praise, but all of a sudden I let my ego get the best of me. As I started learning more about the business, I started over—explaining and overselling and I fell flat on my face the next few weeks. Of course, I had all the excuses. I blamed the area, the economy, the weather, etc., etc. My manager sat me down and told me that I was missing the most important ingredient, and that ingredient was enthusiasm. He made a statement to me that I carry with me to this day, “You have to repeat the things that made you successful.“ How true that statement is!

Success is a journey and we have to understand that we will have ups and downs along the way. When people get into a slump, the majority of the time, self-doubt and lack of belief will set in. We may set expectations very high and put pressure on ourselves and when we do that, we don’t enjoy the ride. It’s natural to have these thoughts; however, we can’t stay there. The mind is a powerful thing and that’s why it’s important to understand that if you’ve had success, it wasn’t a fluke. You just have to think about the things you did in order to achieve that success. It’s time to adopt the philosophy of repeating the things that made you successful. It’s time to get rid of these negative mindsets and turn them into positive ones.

The first step is to believe that you will have success again. Dream big and get refocused on your goals. Remember why you started in the first place. You must shift your beliefs about what success could actually look like and you must have the belief you have the ability to reach it. Believe and achieve.

People who are in a slump often make the mistake of withdrawing from everyone else or even worse, they start hanging around with negative people. It’s important to surround yourself with people who believe in you. I’m talking about the people who will encourage you to succeed.

It’s also important to find a mentor who can coach you through the tough parts of taking your success to the next level. Find the successful people and see what’s worked for them. Match it with your own habits and practices and you will see success.

When you talk about repeating the things that make you successful, start writing down what’s worked for you in the past. We have a slogan in our industry, “Having fun and making money.“ I can pretty much guarantee that if someone is not having success, they’re probably not having much fun. When you talk to the successful people in any industry and things are going right, they will tell you that they are having a blast.

When it comes to success, it’s all about mindset. Make sure you truly believe that you’re capable of achieving success starting today. Don’t allow any limited beliefs or negativities to get in the way. And keep in mind, it’s okay to learn new techniques but remember, the most important thing is your attitude.

Do what you did when you did what you did and repeat the things that made you successful.

Have a super fantastic week!
