Thanks once again to wonderful people who have designed these cartoons about our best and furriest pets.
EL LUCHADOR Mexican Cantina–Great New Spot
There’s a new location in Henderson for this delicious Mexican restaurant. At 5:30 p.m. it was totally full, with patrons talking and listening to the music. The manager was quick to seat us and give us menus.
Hot tortilla chips and sauce came out the moment we were seated, and the beers were totally frosty which I love. Eduardo was our waiter and he was quick to point out the best dishes. This is an excellent sign as they only opened a month ago at this Henderson location. The walls were decorated with hand painted Luchador masks all over the walls, every single one unlike the next. I never had seen that many different ones.
The menu was simple and straight to the point. I, of course, opted for the adobo and carnitas à la mandarin tacos as the appetizer. I looked at the many options including mahi-mahi, but let Eduardo point out what he thought was a good choice. I had shrimp fajitas, and my friend had the shrimp and chicken, and there was so much food we could have had another couple of friends join us.
The plate comes out with all the trimmings, and then the really hot plate comes out with all the sizzling meat and vegetables—you build your own fajitas. There is plenty to pick from, fajitas, tacos, burritos, and enchiladas so everyone will find something to their taste.
There is an abundance of flavor in every dish. We ended our wonderful meal with the Churros Sundae—three Churro sticks, vanilla ice cream, plenty of whip cream and chocolate splashes. Definitely a dessert big enough for three.
I would highly recommend, especially for their happy hour drinks. My table was continually checked.
The place is fantastic, it definitely has a good vibe atmosphere. This location is at 475 N. Stephanie in Henderson, just north of Sunset Station. The western location is at 7824 Blue Diamond Rd. Hours are M-T, 11-9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday till 10:30 p.m., and Sunday till 9 p.m.
The interior is huge; this was the old location for the Tomato’s chain, and it is right on the corner with tons of free parking.
Las Vegas Wins 2024 Super Bowl
By now, everyone has heard that Las Vegas has officially been chosen to host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. The city will have a huge opportunity to host the Big Game, but it does come with a cost.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is projecting the Super Bowl to bring $500 million to Las Vegas during the event, along with at least another $70 million in local and state tax revenue.
Here are some of the costs the NFL wants Las Vegas to pick up to host the game.
Presidential Suites at top hotels
Police escorts for team owners
35,000 parking spaces
All ticket revenue from the game
Two bowling venues-when will they have time?
Portable cellphone towers
Advertising space from local radio and tv
According to a media report from the Las Vegas Review Journal, which is where these things are quoted, the LVCVA will pay some $55 million in costs and defray around $20 million from sponsorships. After that is all said and done, the LVCVA will have to pick up all other costs. This is done all the time with major events.
Fifty-five million dollars for a $500 million dollar payday sounds like a sure bet for Las Vegas. I would suggest the second rooms open up for the dates, you book early. They will surely skyrocket.
There will be plenty of superstars at events all over the city, but don’t forget to see a lot of our fantastic things to do while in town. Nostalgia Street Rods, home of famous cars and trucks and a great museum, the Lion Habitat in Henderson, Sunbuggy rentals—great outdoors in the best vehicles around, Area15, with all their amazing things to do, right next to the freeway, Fremont Street and the zipline, along with countless other fun venues. We’ll keep you up to date on them over the next couple of years.
No More Excuses!
It’s time to get real. We all go through difficult times in life, and sometimes our bad choices put us in tough situations. There are other times where bad things happen In our lives and we can’t understand why.
When we go through these difficult times, we have a choice. We can allow them to define us, or we can make a decision to overcome. We can either be a victim or we can be a Victor. Ultimately, you make that final choice.
So whatever you’ve been through in your life, now is the time to get up and dust yourself off and make a decision that you are going to make it happen. No one said that this is going to be easy but I promise you, it will be worth it.
Starting today, no more excuses! It is time to take responsibility for your life. No matter how bad things have been, focus on what you can do today to make things better. Take action so you can ensure that your life will be better in the future. Yes, you have been tested, but it is time to turn that test into an incredible testimony.
Excuses are for the weak, responsibility is for the strong. Choose to make no excuses anymore. It’s time to make the commitment. Understand that you will have challenges, but you get to decide on how you respond. Don’t give up and never give in!
You will fail. Failure is part of success. You will have setbacks but you must make a commitment to keep growing. Winners suffer setbacks and they keep going.
Ten years from now, when you look back at your life, you will want to know that you chose your life. You did not settle for it. You will know that you didn’t make any excuses and, because of that, you will have no regrets.
Today is your day. This is the first day of the beginning of the rest of your amazing life. No more excuses, no hesitating, no procrastinating, no doubts and no regrets.
The past is gone and it’s a new day. It’s time to take your life to that next level. You will reach your goal and you will have success. You must have faith and you must believe that incredible things are going to happen.
Things will not go perfectly, and they will not go as planned. Welcome to life! Let’s get that settled right now. None of us will escape life’s challenges and tough times. Your success will come in the way you respond to these tough times. What separates those who succeed and those who fail is how they respond to the challenges.
You are strong! Because you are strong, you make no excuses. Whenever you get knocked down, instead of asking the question “Why?” ask the question “How?” How can I improve? How can I learn from this? How can I win? You will win because you made no excuses!
Your past does not define you, neither do your mistakes. You were designed for greatness and there is an amazing plan for your life. No more excuses! Be the best you that you can possibly be!
Have an amazing week!

The Neon Museum Opens its North Gallery with Brilliant! Jackpot Show
The Neon Museum Debuts Reimagined North Gallery with New Experiences and Updated Brilliant! Jackpot Show
The Neon Museum opened last night with a new beautiful experience in a building just across the street. Called the North Gallery, home of its popular 360-degree audiovisual show, Brilliant! The improvements within the newly reimagined North Gallery are focused on enhancing the educational experience and include a new “Las Vegas Luminaries” mural, the next iteration of the museum’s immersive show titled Brilliant! Jackpot, new educational components, and customer feedback options.
“With the reimagination of the North Gallery, we wanted to create an experience that enhanced the museum’s popular Brilliant! show, which has been upgraded to Brilliant! Jackpot with more music and new video,” said Aaron Berger, executive director of The Neon Museum. “The North Gallery now helps raise awareness about unique individuals who have shaped Las Vegas culturally. We also added interactive educational elements that allow visitors to take a deeper dive into the history highlighted in the show as well as the science of neon signs. Ultimately, our goal is to make the North Gallery a comprehensive and unforgettable experience.”
The Neon Museum worked with local artists to add the “Las Vegas Luminaries” mural on the area’s south wall, which pays tribute to the diverse communities and some of Las Vegas’s least-known individuals who have greatly impacted Las Vegas cultural history. This is a freestanding work of public art. The mural itself is viewable 24/7 for free; a ticket to the show or museum is not required.
Brilliant!, a 360-degree immersive show that underwent its most significant update yet to its music and video presentation is the main focus point in the North Gallery’s reimagination. The new iteration of the show, entitled Brilliant! Jackpot, includes Las Vegas songs, sung by Elvis, Dean Martin and others, mastered to the lights on famous Neon signs.
The show now plays a selection of 54 songs spread across various timelines. The music is so iconic, many songs from of the 54-song playlist will be available via Spotify on The Neon Museum’s Playlist.
“Renamed Brilliant! Jackpot, guests hit the jackpot with its incomparable combination of technology, video, and music to create a breathtaking multisensory experience that highlights the art and history of Las Vegas,” added Berger. It shows many eras of Las Vegas history.
The entry into North Gallery also includes two new educational elements. Brilliant!’s creator, Craig Winslow, virtually greets guests on a 65-inch monitor for a short segment to tell you what you will see. He explains how he uses technology used to create the show that brings non-operational neon signs back to life. He discusses a process he calls augmented restoration to digitally trace every sign, bulb by bulb, tube by tube, to bring them back to life. The artwork is then projected back onto the signs creating 360 degrees of light and sound.
Upon exiting Brilliant! Jackpot, guests can leave their own personal feedback. The wall also provides a unique photo opportunity as people can now “see” through the wall into the North Gallery as a new 29-foot-long by 6-foot-high vinyl wrap presents a visual representation of the show.
Tickets to Brilliant! Jackpot are available online for $23 per person or $19 for local residents. The show runs 25 minutes in length every evening (show times vary).
Who Is Liable After a Truck Accident?
Truck and other commercial vehicle accidents are different from other types of accidents. They involve the primary parties and other parties, such as the driver’s employer, who may bear some responsibility or liability. Once a thorough investigation is done, it may show that one or multiple parties are accountable or liable. Here are some of the parties who may be held liable.
The Driver
A large percentage of accidents involving trucks are due to driver negligence. These negligent behaviours include driving while fatigued, speeding, and distracted driving. While investigations still need to be completed before anyone can be blamed or charged, many drivers still face the possibility of charges being brought against them, possible convictions and even civil liability cases for injury or damage.
The truck driver is also responsible for ensuring their truck and cargo are secure before they start a trip. If the accident is caused by a malfunction in the truck or the cargo not being secured properly, the driver may be held liable.
To help protect themselves, truck drivers, especially those who transport heavy cargo and drive heavy goods vehicles (HGV) should get HGV insurance. The only problem is that many truck drivers do not have the time to call numerous insurance providers to get the best HGV insurance quotes. Comparison websites like Quotezone make it easier for HGV drivers to get the right insurance, whether they drive a lorry or a heavier truck. These quotes are sourced from leading providers in the UK and then the best ones are sent to drivers.
The Trucking Company (Operator)
The operator or the trucking company is responsible for training their drivers, ensuring their trucks can be on the road, and ensuring drivers are okay to drive. They are also expected to check and maintain their trucks and lorries. Failure to do so can lead to accidents, which is why they can be held liable. The operator may also be held liable if records show they cut corners in driver training, vehicle maintenance to cut costs, and other areas.
Truck and Truck Parts Manufacturers
Some accidents have been proven to not be due to negligence by the driver or the operator but due to failure of the truck or its parts. These include phenomena such as brake failure, tyre bursts, steering issues, and coupling system issues. These all fall under the category of defective vehicles or vehicle parts, and the manufacturer or parts maker is liable.
However, for these parties to be held liable, the plaintiff’s lawyers must prove that a failure in maintenance did not cause the failure but rather the part or truck would have failed even if the truck was properly maintained.
When involved in a truck accident, you may want to be compensated, and the person or party liable to be prosecuted. For this to happen, the police have to establish who is responsible for the accident. The parties listed above could be held liable alone or in combination, which usually demonstrates a failure of the whole system and not just the failure of a single party.
