LA CAVE, AN ELEGANT RESTAURANT IN THE WYNN HOTEL, has a stupendous weekend brunch. The restaurant has been remodeled since I last dined here and now has one open air section overlooking the beautiful pool.
Starting off there is a bottomless Bloody Mary bar along with unlimited selections of Mimosas, sparking wine, or beer if you prefer.
The weekend brunch is served Butler-Style, tray passed, each item comes out served on small plates. There are endless things to say Yes or No to starting with scrambled eggs, mini bagels & lox, egg sandwich, a to-die-for Veal Short Rib Hash, hot chicken wings, Snickers Pancakes, bacon & egg flatbread, or French toast.
Take a short break and taste the creamy Yogurt Parfait, the Heirloom Tomato Capre
se, small Angus burgers, and marvelous Truffle mushroom grits. How about a cinnamon apple waffle, Filet Mignon eggs Benedict, tomato mozzarella flatbread, a purple cream cheese pancake, or baked potato loaded tater tots? Placed on your table are Applewood sliced bacon and chicken sausage links. If you still have room for more, there is a full assortment of mini cakes, cake pops, blueberry crumble, bran or Vegas cranberry muffins or house-made cookies.
The fresh air floating throughout the restaurant and a bartender standing by to restock the bar make this a great outing! Weekend brunch suggests reservations; $49, $28 per child and the bottomless bar is $29. Hours are 11:30am-9:30pm during the week and 10:30am-9:30pm on weekends. Parking is free at the Wynn.
When finished, make sure you take a tour of the Wynn and Encore which are hooked up with a great shopping mall in between.
