Delicious, Unique Menu at Toasted Gastrobrunch

Brunch this morning at a new restaurant, TOASTED GASTROBRUNCH, on the West side of Las Vegas at the 215 and Rainbow—quite a unique menu. All farm food, with a giant ceramic cow in the middle of the seating.

Three of us dined on fantastic dishes, including avocado toast, shrimp and grits, southern fried chicken Benedict, a coconut pistachio kanafee—somewhere between an omelet and french toast—with phyllo dough, ricotta, mozzarella cheese, and coconut on a toasted brioche for starters. We also tried a toasted Monte Cristo all of which there are pictures.

They serve breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, which I would usually order as they are hard to find in Las Vegas, four other kinds of eggs Benedict, multiple omelets, open-faced grilled veggie stacks, Chicken wraps, to name just a few.

The mimosas were delicious with over eight to pick from. Great waitstaff, free parking, and nice music. We all totally enjoyed and so will you. Breakfast and lunch only. 7345 Arroya Grande

6 Best Ways to Cozy up Your Home This Winter

Colder weather is an ideal time to stay at home and cozy up with a cup of hot tea and a good book. But to do so, your home needs to be a cozy place as well.

Fall and wintertime is the right time to make your home feel warm and comfortable. And to be able to do that, you need to know some interior design tricks.

If you’re interested, here are a few of the best ways to cozy up your home this winter.

  1. Cozy lighting

During late fall, days are shorter and nights longer. This means that natural lighting will be on the short side and you’ll need to find interesting ways to make up for the lack of sunlight.

Ambient lighting is the right way to go. Add different types of floor or table lamps that emit warm and soft light. Don’t be afraid to add them to the darker corners of your home to brighten them up a bit more.

Lighting candles and a fireplace, if you have one, can also brighten the space and add to the cozy atmosphere you’re going for.

  1. Warm carpets and rugs

A great way to bring coziness to your home during wintertime is with a nice, fluffy carpet or rug. Winter is a great time to switch your flat-weave rugs with something warmer like high pile rugs or carpets. Layering rugs on top of each other is another great way to add thickness to your floor and make them warmer.

Being warm underfoot is the epitome of coziness, so this is a must when trying to cozy up your home for wintertime. Don’t be afraid to add a rug to your bathroom, kitchen, and hall as well.

You can find a plethora of different kinds of rugs in a specialized carpet store, and during winter you can expect many great sales.

  1. Update window treatments

Replace your sheer curtains with something heavier and more patterned. A perfect way to add character and a dose of coziness to any room is with the right type of drapes. Not only are they a great way to add elegance to a room, but drapes also block the cold air from leaking into your home.

Choose something timeless like velvet drapes with a great pattern that will add character to your walls and make the room feel snug and cozy.

  1. Throw pillows and warm blankets

Layering throw pillows and pairing them with a warm blanket is a perfect way to add coziness to your sofas and in that way make them more inviting.

Source pillowcases with a lot of texture and dress your pillows for winter days. Chunky knit blankets are also a perfect addition to your sofa for the duration of colder weather.

Also, don’t be afraid to add fuzzy faux sheepskin spreads and drape them on your sofa or armchairs. You can use them on the floor as well. These spreads will immediately make your home feel like a cozy winter cabin.

  1. Layered bedding

Don’t forget to cozy up your bedroom as well. And to do this, all you need to do is layer your bedding. Add some extra layers by introducing heavier and warmer fabrics. Flannel and fleece bedspreads are ideal for colder months.

Add more cushions to your bed and a heavier blanket at the foot. Play around with the colour and texture of the winter bedding and throw pillows.

  1. Cover the tables

Adding tablecloths or runners to your dining room table is yet another great way to bring coziness to your home. If you don’t own any of these types of fabrics, be creative and use scarves or thin blankets as a substitute.

You may think that covering your table is not important, but the truth is that it can make a ton of difference and make the room feel super cozy.

Long, dark winter days can impact our mood negatively, that’s why making our home cozy and inviting is a great way to brighten up our days and make them less dreary.

As you can see, the whole process of making a home cozy is easy and it won’t break your budget – so why not do it?  It will make life brighter and warmer during the wintertime.

What to Know When Buying a Home With a Pool

It’s estimated that there are over 10 million residential swimming pools in the U.S. Chances are, you know at least one person with a pool. Maybe their house is the “central hub” for parties and summer fun.

But, visiting someone for a pool party is different from owning a pool yourself.

If you’re considering buying a new home with a pool, there are a few important things to keep in mind. While swimming pools have plenty of benefits, they are also a lot of work. Understanding what to expect now will prevent a lot of headaches later if you end up buying the home and keeping the pool.

With that in mind, let’s cover a few things you should know.

There are Plenty of Perks

First, you probably already know that having a pool can be a lot of fun. Not only will your house likely turn into the “go-to” location for summer parties, but other perks include:

  • Swimming can reduce stress and improve your well-being
  • It provides a great way to exercise
  • It can boost your social life
  • Spending a day around the pool can improve quality time with your family
  • It’s a great way to beat the heat

Obviously, if you live in a climate that doesn’t get much warm weather, a pool might end up being more work than it’s worth. But, if it’s something you think will get a lot of use, consider the benefits and how your whole family will enjoy it.

A Pool is a Continuous Investment

There are some drawbacks to this luxury item, too. You don’t want to end up regretting your purchase, so make sure you’re aware of some of the potential “cons” of pool ownership before you officially buy a home with one.

First, pools can be expensive. You have to consistently buy chemicals and treatments to keep it clean and safe to swim in, as well as extra gear for deep cleaning and getting rid of debris.

They can also take a lot of work to maintain. Not only are the chemicals required for cleaning expensive, but you have to add them quite often to keep things safe. Between checking the pH levels, skimming leaves and bugs off the surface, and closing/opening your pool during different seasons, it can take a lot of time and effort to make things perfect.

Things like smart technology can help. There are tools you can use to check your pool’s temperature and alkaline levels right from your phone. Smart tech also makes it easier to schedule regular maintenance that will keep your pool safe. So, while certain aspects of pool ownership are easier than they used to be, you should still be prepared to put in a fair amount of work to keep it properly maintained.

How to Keep Your Family Safe

If you’re willing to put in the work to keep your pool clean and well-maintained, you’re going to want to use it as often as possible. If you have kids, it might feel impossible to keep them out of it!

While swimming pools are meant for family fun, everyone should know the basic safety rules before getting into the water. Drowning is “the leading cause of death in children 1 to 4 years old,” according to Parents Magazine. Teaching your children to swim and setting ground rules can make a big difference. Some of those rules should include:

  • Walk, never run by the pool
  • Only go in with adult supervision
  • Always swim with someone else
  • Never push others into the pool

It’s also a good idea to take some extra precautions, like installing a gate around the pool that either has a lock or security code. Using a home security system with a camera on the pool will always give you a “seeing eye” to make sure your kids are abiding by the rules, so you can be aware of an emergency quickly if it ever happens.

Like any other luxury home feature, there are pros and cons to owning a pool. The best thing you can do is educate yourself and be well informed, so you can feel confident in your decision to keep the pool or not.

The Bronx Wanderers–the Best Show in Las Vegas

When in town, head on over to the Westgate, and see one of the absolute best shows in Vegas, The Bronx Wanderers. I have been following them for years, and when they landed at the Westgate last fall, I was there for media night.

Last night was a grand event—private party and the room was sold out. Alan and Kathy Glist, also the producers of Menopause the Musical, really deserve a round of applause for getting Vinny Adinolfi and the group back into this great hotel. This showroom fits them perfectly and their show last night had every single person singing along to the fabulous hits.

Their opening starts with a video of Tony Orlando, who has celebrated sixty years in show business talking about all the time they spent together in New Jersey. I love hearing the stories that brought Vinny to have the dream he always wanted and is now being fulfilled in Las Vegas. The group brings back so many old songs we have loved over the years, with a lot of great video clips and nostalgia. One of the very best shows in Las Vegas and definitely worth your time out.

United by their passion for great music, The Bronx Wanderers are led by father and master entertainer Vinny Adinolfi, who is a former chart-topping record producer. He is joined on stage by his son, Vinny “Vin. A” Adinolfi III, an Italian Brian Wilson who sings, arranges and plays several different instruments, as well as a killer hand-picked backup band. They have toured for the last 16 years and no one can compete with them for the heart and soul that they pour into their show.

The Glist team is also bringing a brand new experience to the Westgate, a weekend brunch, entitled Frank Marino’s Red Carpet Brunch, with superstar Celebrity Female Impersonators of Cher, Tina, Taylor, Diana, Bette and Liza at both 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Bronx Wanderers have performances Monday through Thursday at 8 p.m. and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Westgate Cabaret. Free parking at the hotel.

El Dorado Cantina Gets 5 Stars

EL DORADO CANTINA RESTAURANT was opened in Las Vegas in 2014. The first one was on Sammy Davis Drive, just west of the strip. Every item on the menu is organic and non -GMO and has truly unique flavors. It is wonderfully popular and always full, and there is a private room in the back for parties. The guacamole is mixed at the table and is the best in town.

Next up was the one at Tivoli Village on the West side of Las Vegas. Tivoli is filled with great shops and lots of restaurants and micro breweries; I was there Sunday for their new Sunday brunch and it was fabulous. Manager Josh Lane seated us and gave us a brief history of the menu, and brought out Chef Hugo Rodriguez who has been there for years. We opted to let him guide us through all of the new menu items.

While a band was playing and margaritas flowing at every table, we started with chips, two salsas, and the fresh made guacamole. Next up was a stack of fantastic waffles stuffed with strawberries and whipped cream, a waffle with blueberries, and the most delicious ceviche I have ever tasted—with fantastic, giant pita-like chips. Plenty of shrimp marinated to perfection with peppers and cucumbers. We sampled the chicken enchilada covered in green sauce with rice and beans and chicken enchiladas with mole sauce and rice and fresh cooked spinach; beef quesadilla and both beef and chicken tacos with just the right toppings.

We could have stayed here for hours but we were quickly reaching the full point. I had a mimosa, which was perfect with the food. Every single item is made fresh daily. At this location they have both a patio in front and a huge patio on the side, all perfect for groups.

Let me tell you, as someone who dines out in Las Vegas about five nights a week, this is a wonderful place to go. The parking is free and when you are finished dining, I would recommend strolling through the shops. If you want to stay closer to the strip, the one on Sammy Davis drive is just a hop away.

Entrepreneur Darin Feinstein is the founder of this concept. He hopes to expand across the country and keep up his organic, and gmo-free principles at all locations. Every ingredient that he uses is selected based on how he keeps out antibiotics, pesticides and steroids. The decor is pure Mexican flavor, and very authentic. All locations open 24 hours. I’d give this chain a 5-star review.

Treasured Las Vegas Restaurant Hosts Celebration

Treasured Las Vegas Restaurant, Piero’s Italian Cuisine, Hosts 40th Anniversary Celebration

The best Italian steakhouse in the city celebrated 40 years on Monday night. I have been frequenting Piero’s since the first year it opened.

Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., and his family and I dined many years ago, along with Alan Dorfman who was the Teamsters Asset Manager, and his successor Alvin Baron. I dined a couple of times with Joey Cusumano and friends along with the boxing legend Ken Norton.

One night we were seated next to the whole cast from Casino, parts of which were filmed at this fantastic establishment.

The owner Freddie Glusman lived just a few doors down from me in Las Vegas Country Club. Countless celebrities over the years have had a magnificent evening here.

On Monday, more than 200 well-known people of Las Vegas were among the people to celebrate and congratulate Mr. Glusman, including Las Vegas Raiders owner and regular, Mark Davis. The treasured Las Vegas fine dining restaurant’s owners, founder Freddie Glusman, and his son, Evan Glusman, treated guests to a fabulous celebration to honor the momentous occasion.

Guests, dressed to the hilt, were welcomed with champagne upon entering. Buffets were set up in each room, which were completely full. Freddie, himself a local icon, and Evan, who is now at the helm of Piero’s, thanked party guests, many of whom have been dining at Piero’s since the restaurant opened in 1982. People spoke of the Glusmans’ many Las Vegas contributions, as well as what the restaurant has meant to them, personally. For many Las Vegas locals, Piero’s has been the go-to restaurant to celebrate numerous special occasions.

Piero’s treated everyone to a feast featuring some of the restaurant’s favorite dishes, including agnolotti and a carving station with prime New York strip steak. A decadent seafood tower was overflowing with crab claws, shrimp, and more, and an ice sculpture by American Harvest Vodka treated guests to classic martinis.

Anyone who has watched the movie Casino over the years and seen inside the restaurant will recognize the great piano bar in the front room, which is filled nightly. Conveniently located right across from the convention center with valet parking, this restaurant always give you a night to remember.

Chippendales Celebrates 20th Anniversary  “Jersey Shore” Star Vinny Guadagnino Returning as Celebrity Host for Third Time

Limited Engagement Through April 10

Chippendales welcomed the return of “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino as the special celebrity guest host for a third residency with a red-carpet event on Friday, March 11, 2022. The return also coincides with Chippendales celebrating its 20th anniversary at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

“I am so grateful to Chippendales and the fans for really making me feel like I belong on this stage and in Vegas,” said Vinny G. of his return to Chippendales. “The best part about doing this show is that it’s a family here and everyone welcomed me back as if I never left, including the fans.”

Vinny’s return was met with smiles, screams, and dancing as he once again stepped on stage and into the shower scene that made his last appearance “baring all” break the internet. Guadagnino credits his Keto diet and creative workouts to his great physique.

“I would go on runs and started riding my bike but when it got cold, I started jump roping (sic) a lot,” said Guadagnino. This new workout has inspired his new Instagram account, @vinnyjumps, and is incorporated into his Chippendales performance.

In addition to steaming up the stage with his shower scene, Guadagnino personally invited fellow Vegas headliner, Lady Gaga to the show as his “dream guest” to watch him in action on stage.

“Lady Gaga has got to come to Chippendales,” says Guadagnino. “It’s right up her alley – I’ll even give her a lap dance – I’ll do whatever I can to get her here!”

The 20th anniversary celebration was held at the Rio where the Chippendales have been for years.
