Kelly Clinton– A True Las Vegas Star Has a New Venue!

Anyone who comes to Las Vegas often, gets tired of the strip and is looking for local places to relax. Well, many of you have heard of Kelly Clinton, who has established a new room every Thursday night for your enjoyment, and this is definitely the place to go.

Located only three minutes from the strip in Commercial Center at the new Vegas Nevada Rooms, come enjoy a couple of hours of this great entertainer and comedian.

The new Nevada Room serves up an absolutely fabulous menu! I tried it out this week at a media luncheon and again last night upon her opening with three hours of unimaginable entertainment. Let me tell you a little bit about Kelly.

Called “The Sit In” With Kelly Clinton, she will perform every Thursday night beginning September 9 at 7 p.m. Her inaugural performance will open with an array of local talent and an official ribbon cutting, as announced by Tom Michel, President of The Vegas and Nevada Rooms.

“Kelly begins her Thursday night residency at The Nevada Room Showroom with her very own brand of charisma. Her new show, ‘The Sit In,’ is going to be a delightful variety of music and humor,” said Michel. “Of course, with Kelly, you can always expect surprises. She’s a kaleidoscope of talent, a staple of the Las Vegas entertainment community, and we are honored to have her at The Nevada Room.”

Kelly is thrilled about her new Thursday night home. “I’m very excited about my new adventure. Every Thursday night, we’ll be celebrating the incredible amount of talent in our city, from singers and musicians to comedy, variety acts, and guest headliners. Of course, my favorite part is always going to be the fact that you never know what’s going to happen next. So, I hope everyone will join me, my musical director, Mike Clark, and my band at the beautiful Nevada Room Showroom every Thursday night for the fun we’re going to have! I’d also like to offer my special thanks to the senior staff of The Vegas and Nevada Rooms – Tom Michel, Chef David Robinson and Sean Stephenson – for creating this amazing new venue and inviting me to be a part of it.”

Clinton’s new show is entitled “The Sit In” because she will invite audience members and always some surprise guests to sit in with her. Also featured from time to time will be her singing abilities and skills as an impressionist, a talent she acquired as a child while mimicking family members. The shows are complimentary, just order a lovely dinner and drinks.

The room holds approximately 125 so there is plenty of space for a wedding or private event. Last night could have held 200 as the show and her guests were so popular. Featured with her was the terrific magician, Mac King, now performing at Excaliber; Philip Officer; Eliza Fioilla; Keith Thompson; Bill Fayne; Tony Arias; and Clint Holmes, Kelly’s husband to name a few.

The Nevada Room showroom will also offer a complete handcrafted à la carte menu with delicious food created by Executive Chef and Owner, David James Robinson along with great cocktails and an assortment of wine, beer, and spirits.

Some of the fabulous menu items that I sampled included homemade Foccacia bread with Creamy Gorgonzola Blue Cheese Spread—it was amazing. Other appetizers include a new cheese & charcuterie board, bacon wrapped Gorgonzola Blue Cheese stuffed date, and chilled poached shrimp. On the soup and salad menu is chicken and rice soup or a crispy Caesar salad. They serve slow roasted pork loin, classic meatloaf, a vegan burger, a health conscious grain bowl, along with sweet potato fries to name a few. We all sampled three of the desserts, a warm bread pudding, “The Best” Orange creme brûlée, and a banana pudding redux with homemade vanilla wafer. Can’t wait to see what I order on Thursday!

The artwork and gorgeous silver palm trees were designed by Mistinguett, famous in Las Vegas.

Really folks, if you are in Las Vegas, give the strip a break and come out to see this uniquely talented woman, her great band, and some surprise guests. And if you are local to Las Vegas, start coming often, as every night but Monday they feature someone on the stage. At the other end of the venue is a piano bar, so you might also try it out for a change. Plenty of parking and it is FREE!
