Yes, I talked about them before. But they have just added a lot of new items to their breakfast and lunch menu, so they deserve a new go-round.
Featuring many Hawaiian dishes, such as mahi-mahi, kalua pork or smoked salmon egg dishes, crab cake benedict, and lox & cream cheese with salted salmon, this mixture of Hawaiian, Chinese, Italian and a little bit of love is what Cinnamon’s is all about.
The newest items on their already delicious menu are a cheeseburger omelet with country tots, a pork adobo & kim chee fried rice with a scoop of potato macaroni salad. Another new item is a seasoned chicken with a Chinese style green-onion ginger topping. And we all know they are famous for their pancakes, so the newest addition is a Cinnamon Roll Pancake. Lunch’s new items include a Bun & Burger Combo, with Huli-Huli chicken alongside pina-cole-slada. That’s slaw for short! The Las Vegas Green Burger has fresh spinach, sautéed mushrooms, jack cheese, parmesan cheese & a garlic-cilantro aioli.
The chicken Katsu-Kalua Pig & Cabbage combo has Japanese-style fried chicken w/dipping sauce, and smoky roasted Hawaiian pork w/cabbage. Taco, prime, or curried chicken and papaya salads, grilled cheese, or Reubens are regular staples to name a few. Cinnamon’s is known for its Prime Rib Loco Moco, in-house roasted with demi-gravy and horseradish cream.
This place is definitely Hawaiian as they have three restaurants in Hawaii, two in Japan, and are fast expanding this great new concept. Owner Alika Nam will go out of his way for whatever you request.
Take-out orders for sure. Open 7 days, 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Will cater. 7591 W. Washington. 702-478-7027. And they sell the best Hawaiian coffee!

Conifer, CO (August 23, 2019) – “I blame director Robert Altman and tap dancing for my journey into the mysterious world of poetry,” says author and film critic Betty Jo Tucker whose latest book, Cinema Stanzas Two: Poet Laureate of the Movies, has just been published by Bestseller Services. This new offering is a sequel to Cinema Stanzas: Rhyming About Movies, a winner in the Poetry category at the prestigious 2016 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards.
Tucker explains that after watching Altman’s Gosford Park back in 2002, a poem about the movie came to her when she started to write the review. That poem had the same beat as a tap routine she performed in days of yore. Since then, she has been incorporating poems into most of her film reviews – with enthusiastic feedback from readers. Some fans even call her Poet Laureate of the Movies.
Poet/film critic Richard Jack Smith (who wrote the book’s Foreword) claims, “You are the Poet Laureate of the Movies, Betty Jo. A true inspiration.”
Artist/author/painter Judy Joy Jones writes, “If I get to vote for Poet Laureate of Movies, Betty Jo Tucker is in!”
Author Pamela Jaye Smith says, “Reading Betty Jo Tucker’s lively and sensitive poetic reviews is always a pleasure. They entertain and also give me something to think about.”
And actor/director/writer Brian T Shirley rhymes:
Poet Laureate of Movies for Betty Jo seems right. Here’s to her writing poems every single night.
This second Cinema Stanzas offering presents over 70 movie reviews/film poems Tucker has written since the first book was published as well as several of her other poems that relate to cinema. Films of various genres are covered — comedy, drama, fantasy, horror/action/sci-fi, musicals, mystery/thriller, and romance. Along with major motion pictures such as Wonder Woman, Mary Poppins Returns and La La Land as well as Oscar winners like The Shape of Water and Roma, many small independent films — and even one short movie — receive Tucker’s rhyming treatment. This book is written to serve as a fun resource for fans of both movies and poetry. “Although a few rhymes in my book are a bit harsh, no poets were harmed while writing it,” the author insists.
Tucker serves as editor/lead film critic for ReelTalk Movie Reviews. She also writes film commentary for the Colorado Senior Beacon and is the award-winning author of Confessions of a Movie Addict, Susan Sarandon: A True Maverick, and Cinema Stanzas: Rhyming About Movies. She hosts a radio show, “Movie Addict Headquarters,” on BlogTalkRadio. Using the pen names of Harry and Elizabeth Lawrence, Betty Jo and her husband Larry co-wrote It Had To Be Us, a romantic memoir that was adapted for the screen as a short film titled CAKE: A Love Story, which won First Place in the NSAEN Online Film Festival and is now available on Amazon Prime. Tucker is also a member of the San Diego Film Critics Society and the Online Film Critics Society. More information can be found at her website by clicking on www.BettyJoTucker.com.
CINEMA STANZAS TWO: Poet Laureate of the Movies is available as a Kindle E-Book on Amazon.com. (Price $3.99)
45 million people in the United States go on diets each year in an effort to lose weight, and spend a total of $33 billion on weight loss products. Despite the effort and expense the population is putting into weight loss, obesity rates continue to rise and most dieters will ultimately regain any pounds they shed. While a number of factors contribute to obesity on a personal and public level, myths and scams perpetuated by the diet industry play a critical role. As part of your weight loss journey, take time to educate yourself and speak with your doctor about avoiding dieting scams that can hinder your efforts and even harm your health.
Negative Calorie and Zero Calorie Foods
The negative calorie food myth is predicated on the idea that certain foods require greater caloric expenditure to digest than the food itself contains. These mythological negative calorie foods are typically vegetables that are low in calories and high in water content, like celery and lettuce. While your body does burn energy in the process of digestion, the thermogenic effect burns at most 30% of the calories you consume, with protein requiring the most energy to digest. Over the course of a day, you will likely burn only a total of 5-10% of your calories from digestion alone.
Fat-Free Foods and Diets
In 1977, the U.S. government set forth new dietary guidelines suggesting lower fat intake in an effort to combat obesity and heart disease. Shortly thereafter, supermarkets began stocking their shelves with “fat-free” food products, and a fat-free diet craze swept the nation. Many fat-free products contained more added sugar and other additives to improve flavor. Since then, research has shown that certain forms of dietary fat, such as omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fats are actually beneficial to overall health and weight loss efforts.
Modern dieting wisdom recommends limiting sugar and carbohydrate intake instead, while increasing the percentage of calories derived from fat and protein. Atkins and keto are the two most popular low-carbohydrate diet plans. In choosing between keto vs. Atkins, it’s important to consider which method is better suited to your lifestyle. Keto can be viewed as more restrictive, as it involves limiting carbohydrates to fewer than 20 grams per day, while Atkins offers greater flexibility in terms of carb percentage. Atkins also involves the gradual reintroduction of higher levels of carbohydrates, whereas keto is a more long-term lifestyle change.
Caffeine Pills and Caffeinated Beverages
Caffeine is an active ingredient in many weight loss supplements, as well as slimming and detox beverages you may have seen advertised on Instagram. While caffeine does give your metabolism a temporary boost, the effects are short-lived and ultimately negligible. Sleep deprivation that can be brought on by excess caffeine consumption, however, is linked to higher levels of stress and weight gain. Consuming too much caffeine also has a diuretic effect, causing you to lose vital fluids and electrolytes.
Even the smartest people can fall for the promise of fast and easy results, and buy into misinformation when it’s presented convincingly enough. If you’ve fallen for a diet scam before, you’ll know going forward to be wary of claims that seem too good to be true. Take time to do your research and consult with your physician before embarking on any diet or lifestyle change.
When it comes to sales training, there is an abundance of information that is available. There definitely is some good advice out there and most of the information is helpful. Many of you know my background. I’ve been in direct sales since I was a kid. When I use the term “direct sales,” I am talking about TRUE sales. I know what it is to walk into a prospect cold when they have no idea that I’m coming or why I am there. It certainly can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding. What an incredible feeling it is to have success in direct sales!
When you hear all the advice that you receive from videos or from sales professionals, it can be overwhelming and also confusing. I believe where people make the mistake in selling, is they talk too much and give information overload, which only overwhelms the prospect.
I remember way back on my first week of selling books, I had great success right out of the gate and made seven sales. Everybody was telling me how great I was doing. The funny thing is that I really had no idea what I was doing. People were buying my enthusiasm. The second week I became, in my mind, a professional salesman. I went out there and basically oversold the product. That week, I only wrote two and one of them canceled. The difference was very simple. My first week, I was excited about what I was selling and the customers became excited as well. The second week, I was overselling, overexplaining, and boring people.
Bottom line, sales is all about selling yourself. People are buying you. Yes, It is important that you have an excellent product or service, but most important YOU are what they are buying.
Today, I am going to give you two very simple tips that will help you sell yourself.
SMILE
So this is very simple. How do you get people to like you? The first step is to just smile. Many people without realizing it look angry, grumpy, stressed out or sad. Your smile is your first impression. I’m going to encourage you to practice this wherever you go. Get into the habit of smiling with everyone you meet. A smile will crumble any obstacle. If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours. Develop a reputation of someone that smiles all the time.
Your smile is your logo.
Listen
The best salespeople are the best listeners. There is a misconception that in order to be successful in selling, you have to have the “gift of gab.” The reality is, it’s quite the opposite. I have seen so many salespeople talk themselves out of the sale. They simply talk too much and do not listen. How can a sales representative know what a prospect needs if they don’t give them the opportunity to tell them?
Ask questions. When you ask the questions, LISTEN to their responses. This shows that you care and that you really want to help your prospect.
Focus on these areas this week. These are two very important tips that will not only help you in selling but will also help you in all of your relationships. Go out there this week and SMILE and truly LISTEN to all whom you encounter.
I have been going there for years and ate there again last night. The view of the strip is fantastic. Twice a year the menu changes and I always try to check it out. Always the new fall and winter dishes are exceptional and they will be coming up in November. There is a very large main dining room, a sushi bar, a regular bar, and a private dining room for twenty.
The food is excellent and the service marvelous. Take a look at the two desserts that I ordered last night. One is cotton candy, which they set on fire and when it burns off, voila! A dessert is hidden underneath. We had beef-wrapped asparagus, salmon and tuna sushi rolls, just for a quick bite.
As always, Johnny Seo the Executive General Manager was on hand overseeing every aspect of the place.

When it comes to success, I think so many people tend to over analyze what it takes to become successful. Yes, there are a lot of key ingredients but the bottom line is that it all boils down to just making the decision.
Motivation certainly is a big part of preparing for success. I highly recommend reading inspirational books, watching videos, and surrounding yourself with inspiration and positive people. Keep in mind, though, it will come to a point that motivation is not enough. You will have to DECIDE if you’re going to become successful.
This applies to all areas of our lives. Many people talk about getting in shape, losing weight, having success in business and relationships. They read all the books. They get counseling. They might even make a plan of success but they never fully decide to do it.
When it comes to RMS, we have an amazing opportunity here. We set all of our representatives up for great success. We have a corporate office which provides us with customer service, technical support, and we even have our own personal relationship managers to assist us in making sure our deals are approved. Within our group, we have team leaders, trainers, and so many successful representatives that make themselves available to guide and teach new representatives on how to become successful. We have put together a website (rmssupercrew.com) with several videos covering the many facets of our business.
So the question is, why are so many representatives and especially newer representatives achieving great success with RMS? Yes, they are talented. They have determination and the willingness to work hard; but the bottom line is each and every one of them looked at this opportunity as a true blessing to help them achieve the life that they have dreamed of. They saw the opportunity. They learned what it took to become successful. They are constantly growing, but each of them will tell you that they simply MADE A DECISION.
Success does not just happen by accident. It takes great determination and a lot of hard work.
Starting today, make the decision that you are going to be a top performer with RMS. Don’t look back. Make a 100% commitment and go for it. If there are other areas in your life that you would like to improve on also, make the decision to do that as well.
This is your life. DECIDE to make the very best of it and choose to become successful.

If you are involved in local entertainment your best customers are, of course, going to come from your community. Finding ways to give back using your skills or time can only help to enhance your reputation, connections, and overall sense of well-being. I have been approached often to lend my time and talent for events small and large, each with its own focus or niche, and rarely have I walked away with anything less than a happiness that I could do something to help that group on that day. The passion fueling the respective businesses and organizations behind non-profit or community-oriented events and their desire to make their part of the world a little better can be infectious and is always inspiring. And if you can have a lot of fun while you’re making great things happen, so much the better. And for serious summer fun, it’s hard to beat a theme park!

“Light in August” (1932) is set in the American South during the era of racial segregation and is focused chiefly on a protagonist named Joe Christmas. A man of black and white ancestry, Joe feels alienated from African-Americans as much as he does from white Americans, and he extends his brooding hostility toward both. Critics have attached religious significance to this character. He might be a Christ-symbol, but he could as easily be an anti-Christ-symbol. He is definitely a thug. In the opening of the second chapter, he makes his first appearance: ‘He did not look like a professional hobo in his professional rags, but there was something definitely rootless about him, as though no town nor city was his, no street, no walls, no square of earth his home.’
The epic novel’s plot is multifaceted and includes a large number of major and minor characters, but the dominant presence is Joe Christmas. He is suspected of having murdered a woman named Joanna Burden. The victim is a despised descendant of Northern abolitionists and had lived alone in a manor outside the town of Jefferson, Mississippi. Prior to the murder, Joe and a criminal colleague had moved into a cabin outside Joanna’s house, and eventually she and Joe had become lovers. When Joanna is finally found murdered, Joe becomes the primary suspect. The manhunt that follows is intensified when the citizens of Jefferson learn that the suspect is black, if only partly so.
Joe Christmas is as enigmatic as he is memorable and he cannot be easily encapsulated. The racial component is only part of the equation. Equally important are his conflicts with women. He associates womankind with Sunday and with church, and also with gentleness and kindness ‘which he believed himself doomed to be forever victim of and which he hated worse than he did the hard and ruthless justice of men’. But this revolt against femininity suffers a final and horrific defeat when Joe is killed by a fanatic vigilante near the novel’s end. The paragraph in which this shocking murder is described left me outraged but also awestruck.
Religious symbolism is present throughout the novel and not exclusively in relation to Joe. A pregnant woman named Lena Grove and a woodworker named Byron Bunch seem to be patterned—loosely of course—after Mary and Joseph of the Bible. In any case these two characters convincingly epitomize, for me, male and female decency. Lena Grove is searching for a scoundrel named Lucas Burch who abandoned her after he learned of her pregnancy. In the course of her search, she meets Byron; the good man with whom she will undoubtedly settle. He helps her and cares for her, but holds back—shyly, exasperatingly—from declaring his love for her.
William Faulkner produced a sizable amount of deservedly celebrated fiction. But nothing can top “Light in August”. Had he written nothing else, I would still consider him one of the greatest novelists ever.
In this article, we delve into the enduring charm of classic lingerie styles, the luxurious fabrics that make them, and how to incorporate and care for these pieces in your wardrobe.
